Why Do Your Shoes Wear Out Unevenly?

There's no clear expiry date when it comes to a pair of shoes. They'll be replaced when it becomes necessary, which of course depends on the quality (and materials) of the shoes, how often you wear them, and what you wear them for (exercise, daily wear, or occasional wear). For many people, shoes wear out evenly—with the left and right shoes fairly evenly matched with their progress of wear and tear.

About Me

Staying Graceful: The Art Of Foot Care

As a successful ballerina, I am naturally obsessed with feet. They are my tools of grace, my source of inspiration and my livelihood. As Martha Washington so beautifully stated: "Think of the magic of that foot, comparatively small, upon which your whole weight rests. It's a miracle, and the dance . . . is a celebration of that miracle." Without my feet, I am a mere mortal, without magic or movement or motivation. Over the years, I have gained an extensive array of foot care tips that are often sought by other dancers, family and friends. This blog aims to share that knowledge, to help you keep your feet light and free and nimble as you race and dance through life. Please read, share and dance across these pages as you see fit. And may you always have happy feet.
